Admissions and Appeals
The Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Multi-Academy Trust is the admission authority for all the schools within the Trust and is responsible for determining the admissions policy. On behalf of the Trust, the admissions are coordinated by the relevant Local Authority. All decisions relating to admission applications will be taken by the school’s Local Governing Body.
If you are wishing to apply for a place at St. Margaret Clitherow Academy for your child, please read the admissions policy below. All applications are coordinated through Nottingham City Council. Please ring the Nottingham City Council admissions team on 0115 8415568 to find out more about the admissions process.
Please ensure that you follow BOTH steps below, this will avoid any delay in your application for a place at St. Margaret Clitherow Academy..
STEP 1: If you are applying for a place and your child is a baptised Catholic, you MUST complete the supplementary form provided by the school. You must also provide a copy of your child's baptism certificate and return all documents to the school office before the closing date (15th January 2021). Without this additional information, we cannot rank your child as a Catholic.
STEP 2: Complete the registration and admissions form on the Nottingham City Council website which can be found here.
Parents whose children have not been offered a place in the normal admissions round will be added to the school's waiting list unless they have been offered a place at a higher preference school. The waiting list will remain open until the end of the academic application year. If a parent wishes their child to remain on the waiting list, they must reapply each academic year. The local authority manages the waiting list for St Margaret Clitherow Catholic Voluntary Academy.
In Year Applications
An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places. An application should be made to Nottingham City Council by completing the LA Common Application Form here and following the instructions on the LA website. If applying for a place on faith grounds you will also need to complete a Supplementary Information Form and return this to St Margaret Clitherow Catholic Voluntary Academy Bestwood Park, Nottingham NG5 5RS.
Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in the admission arrangements for 2021/22 will be applied. Please see our Admissions Arrangements 2021-2022. Parents are advised to read the admission arrangements carefully before making their application.
If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list. Please see the admission arrangements for more details.
You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing as soon as possible. Applicants must be informed of the outcome of their application within 15 school days of receipt, but the aim is to notify applicants of the outcome of their application within 10 school days of receipt.
You have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel if your application is unsuccessful.
