Dear children

It will hopefully not be long before we can all be back together again. The video above is a little message from all staff to let you know we are thinking about you all.

We miss you all! Stay safe and keep well.  XX

A message from the Headteachers

On behalf of all of the children, staff, and governors, we would like to warmly welcome you to St. Margaret Clitherow Catholic Voluntary Academy.

At St. Margaret's we believe that every child is special and that 'the child is at

the centre of everything we do.'  At the heart of our school is our Catholic faith

and we strive to ensure that the children develop spiritually and morally as well

as academically, physically, socially and creatively.

We strive to be a place where children are happy and enjoy their learning in a safe and secure environment.  We are committed to developing the talents and skills of every child to enable them to achieve the best that they can.  We also wish to nurture their spiritual and personal development so that they will grow in their understanding of our mission statement, 'Love one another as I have loved you'  (John 13:34-35) and become caring and responsible citizens.

We hope this website will give you an insight into our school. We are a school and church community whose mission statement calls to:

"Love one another as I have loved you." - John 13:34-35

We strive to live out the Gospel values of respect, honesty, and truth in our daily lives.

Christine Reilly and Sarah Sweeney

As you will be aware, under the Government’s COVID-19 Recovery Strategy, a phased return for schools is planned for primary children for 1st June.   We are committed to ensuring that children and staff can remain safe and healthy during the wider opening of schools. We have ensured that throughout the current crisis, we have followed Government guidance to the letter.  In order to give all children the opportunity to return to school safely before the Summer Break, Year. 6, Year 1, F2 and F1 will break up for the Summer on Tuesday 14th July. We will then be able to welcome back children from Year. 2, Year, 3 and Year. 4 before the Summer Break so that they can say goodbye to their current teacher and meet their new teacher in preparation for next year. We will also continue to provide provision for vulnerable children and for children whose parents are key workers.
